Jane McDermott joined the firm's Dust and Occupational Diseases
team in October 2006. Prior to joining the firm, Jane was a
partner at another leading plaintiff law firm where she specialised
in asbestos litigation.
Jane has more than nine years experience in litigating
asbestos claims and has successfully run claims in Victoria, South
Australia, Tasmania and New South Wales. She works exclusively in
asbestos litigation and is dedicated to getting the best results
for her clients.
Before becoming a lawyer, Jane worked in foreign aid managing
community development and health projects in the Philippines,
Indonesia and Vietnam. She remains committed to social justice
goals and has performed volunteer work at the Fitzroy Legal
Service.
Jane is conversant in Spanish and Bahasa Indonesian. She is a
member of the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand, the
Australian Lawyers Alliance and the Asbestos Information and
Support Service.
