With more than 30 years experience, Steven has extensive
knowledge of all aspects of commercial law with significant
expertise in will disputes, testator's family maintenance claims
and estate issues. He also advises on issues varying from copyright
and contracting through to trade practices compliance. Commercial
work relating to sale of businesses, corporate structuring and
property development are also part of Steven's broad experience.
Throughout his career, Steven has also been involved in a number of
litigated matters in all superior courts, including the High
Court.
Steven has considerable practice management experience having
started a two partner practice in Melbourne's CBD after eight years
working as a lawyer. He then spent a further 12 years in the CBD,
half in that practice and the other half as a partner in a much
larger firm. In 2001, Steven opened his own firm, Harris Legal, in
Carlton. A desire to return to more of a litigation focus saw
Steven join Maurice Blackburn Commercial.
