Maurice Blackburn has recently launched a claim on behalf of people who suffered loss as a result of the 2009 Murrindindi Black Saturday Bushfires.
The firm will be holding two public meetings (Wednesday 7 and Thursday 8 November) to provide an overview of the claim and answer any questions or concerns.
Natalie Sheard, senior associate and lawyer on the case said:
"We want to provide as much information as possible so that people know who is eligible to join the class action. Those affected by the fire, including residents and businesses, have waited a long time to find out the real cause of this fire and have lived with the trauma of it for over three years, so we are eager to get on and prosecute the case. We've had almost 400 registered for the action and the involvement of a large group of people is critical to the class action's success."
