One of Australia's top medical law firms has hired two new senior lawyers in NSW and Qld.
Margaret Brain has recently joined Maurice Blackburn's Queensland medical law department as special counsel, and Richard Steele, who has spent eight years at the NSW Bar, joins the firm's Sydney medical law department as an associate.
Both Margaret and Richard come to the firm with a wealth of experience, further confirming Maurice Blackburn's place as one of Australia's largest medical law firms.
Margaret has worked as a solicitor in Queensland for around 30 years and as a partner at other Qld firms. Apart from his work as a barrister, Richard's background includes science and commerce degrees.
Kathryn Booth, head of Maurice Blackburn's medical law national practice said the addition of the pair added to the breadth of mediation and advocacy experience in the team.
"It is widely acknowledged that medical law requires specialist knowledge and with these appointments we now have even stronger resources to improve the service we can offer clients," she said.
Maurice Blackburn currently has 22 lawyers practising in medical law in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Canberra, Sunshine Coast and Perth.
