Canberra’s legal community rugs up for Winter Blanket run with motorcyclists and Salvos
8 May 2015Over 500 motorcyclists will gather in Canberra tomorrow for the annual May Blanket Run.
Blankets, non-perishable food and other necessities have been collected for the Motorcycle Riders’ Association ACT (MRAACT) Salvation Army annual event.
Riders will assemble from 8.30am at Old Parliament House and, at 10a, head up to Woden then back over Commonwealth Ave Bridge, Parksway, King’s Avenue Bridge and to Old Parliament House.
Social justice law firm Maurice Blackburn has been collecting donations on behalf of the Canberra legal community and its staff will be participating in the ride along with local ACT MLAs.
The firm runs a motorcycle safety awareness campaign, Stop SMIDSY (Sorry Mate I Didn't See You)
