Union members were out in force on Thursday 29 March at the rally against the Victorian Government's plan to cut the WorkSafe budget.
Hundreds of union members crowded onto Parliament House steps, where Australian Services Union Victorian Private Sector Branch Secretary Ingrid Stitt, Victorian Trades Hall Council Secretary Brian Boyd, Australian Workers' Union Victorian Branch Secretary Cesar Melhem and Leader of the Opposition Daniel Andrews, MP, voiced their concerns about the funding cuts.
Ingrid acknowledged the many unions represented at the rally, and also the support of the union lawyers, including Maurice Blackburn.
The speakers raised many concerns about how the cuts may impact on future injured workers, and the rally concluded with a chant "It's not your money".
