Ani Haddad

Ani is a first generation Australian, and is proud of being the first person in her family to attend university. She holds Honours in Laws from Deakin University, where she was top of her class for Administrative Law. She also graduated with a Distinction in Arts, focusing on politics and international relations.

Ani is a motivated, energetic and enthusiastic lawyer who became interested in costs law after studying it at Leo Cussen when completing her traineeship. She was admitted to practice law in 2011 and has practiced in commercial law, family law and general practice in addition to costs law.

“Costs lawyers are paramount to finalising a matter and helping clients and lawyers understand the importance of running a matter efficiently and successfully, in order to maximise results for the client and the law firm,” says Ani.

“I enjoy reading a file and being immersed in the matter, assessing the file and achieving real results for the client – maximising their gains in what is often a difficult process for lay people.

“Clients instruct law firms at a time when they are most helpless and in need. Assisting them indirectly alleviates further, primarily financial, pressures and is also very rewarding for the lawyers running their files.”

Ani was drawn to Maurice Blackburn because she is passionate about costs law and admires the firm’s social justice values and achievements. She is also an avid fitness enthusiast and interested in all things health-related.
