Mary was admitted as a lawyer in 1988 and has worked in costs law since 2002, affording her extensive knowledge in this complex area of legal practice as well as in precedent development. She has a broad legal knowledge due to the nature of her work and is particularly skilled in advocacy, legal drafting and advice and negotiating.
Mary’s other legal experience includes working as a Member of the Victorian Bar practising predominantly in Crime and Family Law, and as a Judges’ Associate in the County Court to His Honour Judge Kelly QC. She also provided mortgage and securitisation work to banks and financial institutions.

“It is rewarding to know that the work I do for the firm ensures that we are a high performance, best practice law firm ahead of the curve and leading by example," says Mary.
Mary has earned a solid reputation as a leader in this area of law and is a trainer in costs law and costings at the Leo Cussen Centre for Law in Melbourne. She is a member of the Law Institute of Victoria Costs Law Section Executive Committee and has been appointed Chair for 2018.
