Rhiannon is a passionate, intelligent and hard-working solicitor, driven by her determination to fight for justice for innocent people who have suffered wrongs at the hands of others. Drawn to the law by a passion to make a difference in people’s lives, Rhiannon graduated with honours in Arts and Law, and has five years’ experience as a lawyer in class actions and personal injury law at Maurice Blackburn.
“I find the most rewarding thing about my work is being able to see that I am making a difference to people’s lives. The class actions regime in Australia is an incredibly powerful tool for achieving justice for otherwise powerless individuals and for driving change in corporate behaviours and accountability,” says Rhiannon.
In addition to her class actions work, Rhiannon has a strong history of successfully advocating statutory and common law matters relating to WorkCover claims in Victoria, which makes her a well-rounded and competent lawyer ideally suited to class actions involving personal injury.
Rhiannon is currently overseeing the administration of the settlement distribution scheme in relation to the Kilmore East – Kinglake and Murrindindi bushfire class actions. These are the largest class action settlements in Australian history, and involve assessing upwards of 2,000 personal injury claims for compensation.
Prior to this, Rhiannon temporarily relocated to Sydney, where she played an integral role in establishing the settlement process for personal injury claimants in the DePuy/Johnson & Johnson knee implants class action.
