Adam Bowen is a Human Resources Manager at Maurice Blackburn, based in Sydney. He oversees human resources in our NSW and ACT offices.
With more than eight years’ experience in human resources, Adam is a disciplined and detailed professional, with significant skills across a broad range of human resource specialties. Adam holds a double major Bachelor degree in Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations. He established and implemented the human resource function at the Sydney Swans Football Club, and joined Maurice Blackburn in 2011.
Adam is particularly engaged by the psychology of work and people at work, and by the complexity of aligning people and organisational objectives; finding motivation in achieving an alignment that, when realised, equals high individual and organisational performance.
“The beauty of Maurice Blackburn is that at the end of the day, every person who works at the firm, is here for the same reasons – it’s this level of commonality that I reckon is our real strength and why we have the unique and powerful culture we do, a culture people seek out and want to be a part of,” says Adam.
Adam is experienced in the establishment and delivery of human resource programs, policies and processes, in addition to providing human resource support and advice in various areas at all levels of the business. He is particularly skilled in the areas of recruitment, selection and assessment, induction programs, employment relations, culture, management coaching, learning and development, performance management, employee assistance programs, occupational health and safety, and employee exits.
One of Adam’s more significant achievements during his time with the firm is the establishment and implementation of the NSW Graduate Lawyer Program. This program provides graduates with well-rounded legal experience early in their career by working across various areas of practice.
