Alison Speck is an experienced medical negligence lawyer in Maurice Blackburn’s Melbourne office. She helps people from all walks of life with a wide range of claims regard medical malpractice.
Before becoming a lawyer, Alison was a Division 1 Registered Nurse and worked mostly in neuroscience and neurosurgery. This nursing experience gives her a unique insight and understanding to her clients' situations.
"My clients have all, in some way, been injured. I see firsthand the impact that illness, injury and the loss of a loved one has on a person. I am driven to fight for my clients so they can have the best opportunities to move forward with their lives. I think fighting for a fair outcome helps to restore something they have lost and it's very rewarding to be a part of that."
Alison is comfortable working in a complex and fast-paced environment and she brings a calm, straightforward and common-sense approach to her practice. Alison is also passionate about using her work to improve the Victorian healthcare system so that adverse outcomes and mistakes are not repeated.
