Andrew Johnston is an experienced road and work injury compensation Associate in Maurice Blackburn’s Reservoir office. He helps people in Melbourne's northern suburbs with WorkCover and TAC compensation claims.
Andrew holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts majoring in International Studies, as well as a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice. He has six years’ experience as a lawyer and during this time has helped hundreds of people with their compensation claims.
“I became a lawyer because I have an interest in social justice and a desire to stand up for the rights of everyday people,” says Andrew.
“The most rewarding part of my job is being able to advocate for people who have been injured as a result of their employment or a road accident, and ensuring they get the compensation they are entitled to receive.
“It’s challenging when I hear about the additional stress our clients often have to endure as a consequence of the bureaucracy of the system and poor decision making processes within some WorkCover or TAC’s insurers, but I’m inspired by the stories of resilience from my clients who are often confronting very challenging circumstances.”
In lighter moments, Andrew describes himself as a friendly, down to earth lawyer who enjoys following sport – especially footy and cricket – and a good cup of coffee.
