Brendan Johnson is a personal injury Senior Associate in Maurice Blackburn’s Sunshine office. He provides legal advice and representation for people making Victorian WorkCover compensation claims, and is a Law Institute of Victoria personal injury accredited specialist.

Brendan was drawn to WorkCover law through a passionate interest in workplace safety, and a desire to fight to obtain just outcomes for injured workers and people who have suffered through no fault of their own. With more than five years post-admission experience and qualifications in Law, Arts, Economics and Industrial and Employee Relations, he is a highly qualified and experienced solicitor.

“When a worker suffers a life-changing injury, they need to know they are supported and that someone is fighting hard for them. It is challenging to see the consequences of a workplace injury on someone’s life, but it also drives me to do the very best I can for my clients,” says Brendan.

Brendan is a determined and compassionate advocate who actively pursues his client’s legal rights and claims. He prides himself on being able to use his significant skills in litigation, negotiation, and advocacy to achieve the best possible outcomes for his clients. He is particularly aware of the pressures faced by his clients and their families, and he is determined to ensure they receive the support they need throughout the entirety of their claim and as they move forward with their lives.

“No amount of money can compensate a seriously injured worker for their loss, but it is satisfying getting a great result for someone who has a lifelong injury and being able to contribute to their ongoing recovery. I’m particularly inspired when a client is presented with a really challenging situation due to their injuries, and stands up to it with courage and strength. This just makes me want to fight even harder to ensure they receive the compensation to which they are justly and legally entitled.”

When he’s not at work, Brendan enjoys spending time with his family, hiking, fishing and running.
