Qualification(s): BA, LLB (Hons)
Carolyn Ford is a WorkCover Senior Associate and personal injury accredited specialist practising in Maurice Blackburn’s Ringwood office.
Carolyn has more than 10 years’ experience across personal injury law practice areas including WorkCover, TAC, public liability and medical negligence compensation. Carolyn was particularly drawn to WorkCover and workplace injury law through her desire to work in an area where she felt she could be a true advocate.
“I enjoy working closely with clients over the life of their cases and achieving results which make an otherwise very difficult time in peoples’ lives a little easier and ultimately more secure,” says Carolyn.
She is driven to make the law accessible to the average person, and to accomplish this with respect for people’s individual circumstances and with the aim of facilitating a broader sense of contributing to a more just and equitable society.
“I am committed to justice and equality and perseverance in the face of challenges. I’m inspired by the courage and fortitude with which individuals face challenges in their lives.”
Carolyn sees one of her most significant and rewarding achievements as the successful settlement of a multi-million dollar medical malpractice claim, which enabled a severely brain injured single mother of three to have the best future care for herself, her family and children.
“I have a genuine concern for those I act for and am committed to the ideal of being a professional, which goes above and beyond just doing one’s job, by being committed to ensuring I go the extra mile to achieve what is in the client’s best interests.”
Carolyn is a firm believer in the importance of diversity in the workplace and broader community, and she has volunteered at the Fitzroy and North Melbourne community legal centres.
A proud mother, Carolyn cites her daughter as her greatest accomplishment.
