Qualification(s): LLB (Hons)
Claire Jenkins is a road accident injuries Associate in Maurice Blackburn’s Traralgon office.
Claire was admitted to practice as a solicitor in 2012, initially pursuing a career with a defendant insurance litigation firm, which gave her extensive litigation and advocacy experience.
Claire joined Maurice Blackburn in 2014 and has the skills to turn complex legal advice into plain and easy to understand English for her clients. She has successfully represented clients in the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), Magistrates Court, County Court, Supreme Court and Federal Court. She is also a highly skilled negotiator who has obtained notable settlements without the need to go to court.
“My earlier work has given me critical insights into how insurance companies operate and what they are looking at when deciding on a settlement. This sort of understanding is invaluable when fighting for my TAC clients,” says Claire.
Claire is particularly inspired by being able to achieve results for her TAC clients that they may not be able to get themselves. She relishes the challenge of dealing with government and large corporate insurers and is passionate about assisting people injured in transport accidents to secure their fair compensation and full entitlements.
“I decided to make the change to Maurice Blackburn as my values are closely aligned with those of the firm. I am passionate about social justice and achieving fair outcomes for my clients. And after nearly 10 years in the city, I am really enjoying being back in Gippsland where I was born and raised.”
