Courtney Lucas is a personal injury lawyer practising in Maurice Blackburn’s Southport and Brisbane offices. She helps people with workers’ compensation, CTP and public liability claims.
Courtney joined Maurice Blackburn in 2014 after gaining experience with other Queensland law firms and the RACQ. She completed her Bachelor of Laws at Queensland University of Technology in 2009, where she also completed a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice and a Graduate Certificate in Business, focusing on Human Resources. Courtney’s extensive training in her chosen area of practice ensures she is able to achieve the very best result for each and every one of her clients. Throughout her career she has gained valuable experience working with a range of personal injury clients, and she credits her passion for her role to the deep satisfaction she feels when helping people in genuine need.
“Nothing beats the feeling you get when a client looks you in the eyes and says “thank you” from the bottom of their heart – it’s something you can’t put a price on, and which inspires you to keep working hard,” says Courtney.
The opportunity to help clients get their lives back on track, following what is often a difficult time is something Courtney rates as the most rewarding aspect of her job. She is also keenly interested in the application and ongoing development of personal injury law in Queensland, as well as in legislative reform in this area, to facilitate better outcomes for injured people.
