Kim is currently on leave, returning early 2021.
Kim Back is a personal injury compensation lawyer practising in Maurice Blackburn’s Mackay office.
Kim provides legal advice and assistance for people with work related injuries, road accident injuries and public liability claims.
Kim has more than 10 years’ legal experience. She started her legal career in 2002 as a trainee legal assistant and progressed to work as a paralegal while completing her legal studies. Kim holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Canberra, and a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from the College of Law NSW. She joined Maurice Blackburn in 2009 and was admitted to practice as a barrister and solicitor in the ACT in 2012.
A highly organised and motivated practitioner, Kim believes that preparation today results in success for her clients tomorrow.
“I have always wanted to make a difference by assisting those who need it the most – to help people who aren’t able to represent themselves – this is what being a lawyer is all about for me,” says Kim.
Kim is committed to assisting workers and injured people to access their full entitlements under the law, and is determined to assist them in their journey of recovery following an injury. She finds it encouraging and extremely rewarding to be a part of a resolution that helps to put people’s lives back together after what often can be a period of struggle or difficulty.
“I am originally from a small town called Tumut in rural NSW where community engagement and spirit is encouraged. I find it easy to engage with and communicate with people and this means that my clients feel at ease and are able to talk openly and freely about their legal issues. To me, it’s not simply a question of looking at the matter in a legal sense but taking the time to consider the person and their story.”
