Kristyn Knox is a compensation lawyer practising in Maurice Blackburn’s Cairns office. She values giving back to her local community, and has an enthusiastic and genuine passion for the law.
Kristyn obtained a double degree in Law and Psychology at Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane, where she also completed her practical legal training. She joined Maurice Blackburn in 2014.
“I was drawn to plaintiff law very early in my career. I have always been interested in social justice. Practising in this area of the law enables me to make a difference in the lives of everyday people. I find it to be a very rewarding experience as it enables me to be the voice for people suffering injustice,” Kristyn says.
She is inspired by building relationships with her clients, to support them through their most vulnerable moments and to help them obtain the justice and compensation they deserve.
“Making a positive impact on my client’s lives over the course of their legal claim makes the experience all worthwhile.”
Kristyn believes it’s important to give back to the community, too. She has spent time educating students internationally about the importance of access to justice, and before joining Maurice Blackburn, she volunteered at Caxton Community Legal Centre and Queensland Advocacy Incorporated. Kristyn now volunteers at the Cairns Community Legal Centre.
