Samantha Boardman is a compensation lawyer in Maurice Blackburn’s Mackay office, who acts for people who have suffered an injury, illness or disease due to their employment, on the roads and in public places.

Samantha graduated with a Bachelor of Justice and Bachelor of Laws with Honours from the Queensland University of Technology, and was awarded the Vice Chancellors award for making an outstanding contribution to the university community. She was admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Queensland in April 2016.

Samantha first joined Maurice Blackburn as a paralegal in class actions, and she also worked as a trainee lawyer in our Brown’s Plains office in Brisbane. It is Samantha’s determination and hard work that drives her to secure positive outcomes for clients.

“I am unapologetic in advancing my clients’ interests, particularly in circumstances where the injury was caused by corporate misconduct or the negligence of others,” says Samantha.

“At Maurice Blackburn, I combine my passion for helping others, with my interest in the law and effecting change. I work alongside like-minded people to make a difference in the lives of individuals, while also holding insurance companies to account.”

Samantha has a keen interest in using the law to achieve social justice and ensuring everyone has access to justice, not just those who can afford it.

“I am passionate about understanding the context in which a client came to be in their current position. I have a strong desire for empowering those around me through education and experience,” says Samantha.

Samantha spent most of her formative years in a rural town and has a deep appreciation for what it means to be a member of and give back to the local community. She also has experience working with people from low-income, rural and regional, disabled and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander backgrounds. For seven years while at university, Samantha was a Learning Potential Fund committee member and ambassador. The LPF supports students financially to reach their study goals.

Samantha can be contacted directly for more information about her areas of law and successful cases.
