Tamara Wright is a work injuries and road accident Associate in Maurice Blackburn’s Dandenong office and our visiting office in Pakenham. She helps people in the Greater Dandenong area with WorkCover and TAC compensation claims.
Tamara is driven and energised by the opportunity to assist people in our community who need a hand and someone to stand with them. She has strong communication skills and pays attention to detail. Tamara is also skilled in clearly and concisely explaining complicated legal concepts in everyday language.
“We all need someone to be on our side in times of need. When those times come for my clients, I’m always ready to fight hard for them,” says Tamara.
“Having worked in many areas of the law from criminal law and family law to commercial law, I have found that personal injuries law and our social justice practice offered me a connection with my community unlike any other.
“I have the opportunity to assist my clients during an important time of transition in their lives. Accessing compensation can involve complex and confusing steps and I enjoy being able to provide clarity and a clear plan of action that can provide some level of comfort to my clients.
“I believe that it is important for me to be able to take as much of the worry and complication out of the hands of my clients as possible so that they can focus on recovering. We all have the right to be informed about our potential entitlements and to be represented by someone who understands how best to achieve those goals. I often find that there are many benefits that our clients do not know about that can ease some of their burdens.
“Unfortunately, when people are injured and their lives change drastically, it is difficult to see those everyday struggles that cannot be completely remedied by a monetary award. However, the compensation that we are able to recover for our clients does provide many important things, including recognition of the pain and suffering they have gone through as well as providing funding for their future needs and the support of their family.
“The strength and courage of my clients is inspiring. There is nothing as rewarding as the sense of emotion, relief and peace that comes over a client’s face when I’ve fought hard for them and achieved a great result.”
Tamara has been working in the legal industry since 2011. In addition to her work at Maurice Blackburn, Tamara has volunteered at a number of community organisations with a focus on human rights, refugees and young people’s legal rights. She holds a Bachelor of Laws with First Class Honours from Monash University and is a High Distinction Student in the Golden Key International Honour Society.
