Tanya is a class actions Associate in Maurice Blackburn's Brisbane office. She is currently working on the Queensland floods class action.

Tanya is an empathetic, caring, hardworking and determined lawyer with 10 years’ experience in the industry as a solicitor and junior barrister. She moved to Australia in 2014, after gaining her Arts and Law degrees and working in New Zealand.

Tanya joined Maurice Blackburn in 2015 and brings with her a wealth of natural disaster legal experience. While in NZ, she worked on a landmark insurance case arising out of the 2010 and 2011 Christchurch earthquakes. The case succeeded on appeal to the NZ Supreme Court, which is the equivalent of the High Court in Australia. Tanya also has more than four years of insurance legal experience, so she is uniquely placed to help people downstream of the Wivenhoe Dam who were affected by the Queensland floods.

“I am driven by a sense of moral outrage at injustice and a desire to achieve fairness," says Tanya.

“I have a genuine desire for fairness and I strive to achieve justice for those who might not otherwise have access to justice on their own. Where there has been an injustice, I will passionately pursue every legal avenue available in order to achieve a result.”
