Sexual, physical and institutional abuse

If you have suffered from sexual or physical abuse, no amount of financial redress can take away the pain caused. In many cases of abuse the injuries can be severe and long-lasting, often staying with survivors throughout their lifetime. However, you may be entitled to compensation to support you.

Federal redress scheme

The Australian Government has announced that a Federal Redress scheme will be up and running by early 2018. Only those who suffered abuse in a Commonwealth institution are presently eligible for federal redress, though this may change if States, Territories and Institutions opt-in. If you suffered abuse somewhere other than a commonwealth institution you should contact us to see if you can bring a claim for compensation.
