Damian Scattini is a Principal in Maurice Blackburn's Major
Projects department, based in Brisbane.
Damian has more than twenty years experience working in
commercial litigation, class actions and product liability, and he
now focuses primarily on major litigation cases. Damian is heading
the investigation into a potential class action
in relation to the operation of the Wivenhoe Dam and the
subsequent flooding in south east Queensland. He is also
overseeing the equine influenza class
action.
Damian joined Maurice Blackburn in 2011 after heading a practice
area in another national law firm.
Damian is an active member of the Australian Lawyers Alliance
and the American Association for Justice (AAJ). He has held
positions on the Board of Governors of the AAJ and as chair of the
Legal Practice Section of the Law Council of Australia.
Damian was born in rural Queensland and after spending several
years with his family in California, he returned to Australia and
boarding school in Toowoomba. Damian notes his experience in the US
- where he mixed with children of many cultural, religious and
economic backgrounds - as a major reason why he has such a strong
interest in social justice.
