Claire commenced working as a lawyer in our class actions department in 2013. She was a member of the team that successfully obtained one of Australia's largest class action settlements for people affected by the Murrindindi Black Saturday bushfire. The case settled in February 2015 for $300 million.
In late 2015, Claire supervised the team assessing economic loss & property damage claims for the Kilmore and Murrindindi bushfire class action settlement administrations. Together, these settlement administrations involved the assessment of approximately 15,000 personal injury and economic loss & property damage claims and the distribution of over $700 million of compensation to bushfire survivors.
Claire has also worked on the investigation of several potential class actions including the Aveo potential class action and several shareholder class actions, most notably the successful NAB class action, which settled for $115 million.
Prior to beginning her legal career at Maurice Blackburn, Claire previously worked as an Associate to a member of the Fair Work Commission and as a policy officer for a non-government organisation advocating for the legal rights of people with dementia.
Claire graduated with an Arts/Law (Honours) degree from the Australian National University.
