Felicia Lay

Prior to Claims Funding Australia, Felicia was a Senior Federal Prosecutor at the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions in Serious Financial and Corporate/Commercial Crimes. She prosecuted individuals and companies for white-collar crimes including money laundering, dishonest use of company positions, tax evasion and phoenix activity, breaches of financial licensing requirements, fraud, and false and misleading conduct.

In this work, Felicia worked alongside government partners including the AFP, ATO and ASIC, regularly appeared as a solicitor advocate, and had carriage of well-publicised prosecutions against or involving entities such as Plutus Payroll, BitConnect, the Allianz Australia Group and Red Roses Daycare.

Outside of commercial crime, Felicia worked on prosecutions for human trafficking and slavery, production and dissemination of child pornography, and cybercrimes involving children and domestic violence victims.

Felicia also has a background in commercial litigation and alternative dispute resolution in a range of areas including partnership, contractual, consumer, professional negligence, debt recovery, director and officer misconduct, and wills and estates disputes.

She graduated with Honours in law and came first in course in Legal Reasoning during her exchange abroad at Charles University in Prague. She was the recipient of a high achiever's award for outstanding academic excellence in the Faculty of Business and Economics.
