Taylor Bunnag is an experienced medical negligence lawyer in Maurice Blackburn’s Brisbane office.
Taylor holds a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Journalism from the Queensland University of Technology, and a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from the College of Law. He has worked at Maurice Blackburn as a paralegal and then a trainee lawyer, before being admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Queensland in 2016.
“I want the best for our clients and am determined to make a difference so they can get a sense of closure and justice and know that they will be able to get the medical treatment they need or provide for their family in the future,” says Taylor.
“The work that we are doing is vitally important to making sure that our clients and their families are able to enjoy some quality of life.
“Nothing can ever replace a person’s health, and our job is to ensure that an injured person gets a fair amount of financial compensation.
“I’m always inspired by the courage that some of our clients show when they bounce back and get on with life.”
Taylor says he has a particular soft spot for children with disabilities and their parents who care for them, and he lists advocacy and research among his significant skills.
“My grandmother was a single mother who cared for my Aunt Daniella, who had severe Down Syndrome. My grandma detached herself from everything else to care for Daniella, and I saw the immense sacrifices that she made to make sure Daniella had the best possible care. She did it on her own until Daniella was 38 and my grandma could no longer care for her because Daniella was too big and my grandma was too small,” says Taylor.
“Working on these sorts of cases for me is hugely motivating because I see the level of care that these families provide to their children and understand the sacrifices they make.”
Outside of law, Taylor takes a keen interest in politics, and has been a campaign manager in winning campaigns for the Australian Labor Party at State and Federal level.
Taylor can be contacted directly to provide further detail on his area of practice and successful cases.
