“When an employment relationship breaks down, it is often the worker who is left at a disadvantage due to the power imbalance present. Being privy to this disparity in power motivates me to advocate for my clients in their time of need,” says Jessica.

Prior to completing her Juris Doctor at Monash University, Jessica worked in international development and legal protection for various multilateral organisations across the United States and the Asia Pacific. It was here that her interest in employment law developed, after investigating modern slavery in global supply chains abroad.

Jessica then went on to study International Labour Law where she topped the class and was awarded the subject prize by The Hon Alan Boulton AO, formerly of the Fair Work Commission.

Jessica has:

  • Successfully settled a claim under the nascent whistle-blower protections within the Corporations Act for a senior executive from a large financial institution;
  • Defended a senior staff member from a peak government body during a workplace investigation, resulting in their reinstatement;
  • Negotiated a successful settlement for a senior executive of a university during a workplace investigation;
  • Successfully negotiated a general protections and bullying claim for a senior manager from a large multinational publishing group, resulting in settlement.
