"Employment is central to a person’s life – and when an employer behaves unlawfully or unjustly, it can be a time of great stress and uncertainty. I walk that road with my clients to ensure they are not alone and they can make informed decisions to safeguard their future," says Paul.

Paul has successfully represented employees in hearings of the Fair Work Commission, VCAT and the Federal Circuit Court. Paul ensures his clients fully understand how the law applies to them, and how to leverage their legal rights to get the best possible outcome.

Paul’s successful cases include:

  • Winning reinstatement for an employee of a national logistics company in the Fair Work Commission,
  • Winning a Full Bench appeal in the Fair Work Commission overturning the decision at first instance for an unfairly dismissed paramedic who was subsequently ordered the maximum compensation allowed,
  • Assisting a client working at a major technology company to negotiate an exit that protected her financial future after she was bullied by her co-workers and managers,
  • Winning an injunction protecting the right of a worker to continue negotiating for an enterprise agreement with her employer after they sought to sack her,
  • Assisting a client working at a major arts organisation to negotiate an exit after he was bullied and victimised for making a complaint,
  • Winning substantial backpay for a cleaner who was engaged as an independent contractor as a means of not paying him the statutory minimum wage.
