Briana Jackman is an Asbestos and Dust Diseases Associate based in Maurice Blackburn’s Melbourne office. She services clients across Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia. She also manages matters in the Supreme Court of Victoria, County Court of Victoria, District Court of Western Australia, South Australian Employment Tribunal and Administrative Review Tribunal.

Briana has been with Maurice Blackburn since 2013. During this time, she has worked as an administrative assistant, legal assistant, paralegal, lawyer and now Associate. She has also worked in the firm’s WorkCover, Costs Law, and Employment and Industrial Law practices. Briana has been part of the Occupational Disease team since 2019, first as a paralegal and then as a lawyer from 2021.

“I am passionate about fighting for clients who have been diagnosed with asbestos-related or work-related diseases. I have the privilege of helping them navigate the legal system and securing compensation during what is often a difficult and challenging time in their lives. I strive to make this process as smooth and comfortable as possible by keeping clients informed and supporting them every step of the way,” says Briana.

Briana volunteers regularly at the Eastern Community Legal Centre and with the African Australian Foundation for Retention and Opportunity. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, going to the theatre and travelling.
