James began his career at Maurice Blackburn in 2021 as a paralegal working on the landmark Uber Class Action. He was admitted to practice as a lawyer in 2025 and has since contributed to the BHP Class Action.
“Class actions are an essential part of our legal system. They provide access to justice for people who have been harmed by corporate or government misconduct in circumstances where pursuing an individual claim would be too costly or complex. By bringing people together, class actions make it possible for ordinary Australians to obtain fair compensation from large, well-resourced defendants,” says James.
James holds a Juris Doctor and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Melbourne, and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the College of Law.
