When someone contacts Maurice Blackburn, they're usually dealing with something hard, an injury, a dispute at work, a problem they didn't ask for. The last thing they need is to wait, or to spend half an hour telling their story only to find out we're not the right people to help.

That's why we built Morry.

Morry is a chatbot that helps you get to the right person, fast.

Here's how it works:

  • Listens first: Morry asks a few simple questions to understand each person’s situation
  • Connects faster: Morry can book you straight in with the right practice area, or guide you to one of our people with the right experience to help
  • Always available: Morry will operate 24/7, though the initial rollout will be on selected web pages and will grow from there.

This will give people needing legal support the opportunity to share relevant information, explore eligibility for our support, and connect with the right team or the Client Service Team.

A quick note: Morry is new and still learning. It won't always get everything right, but it will always aim to point you in the right direction.

Yes, Morry is completely free to use. There's no cost to have a conversation, and you won't be asked to pay anything to get help understanding your situation and direct you to some help.

If you choose to access additional legal services at a later stage, separate fees may apply. Any such fees will be clearly explained to you before you decide whether to proceed.

Morry can help you work out whether you would benefit from legal help, understand what your options are, and figure out the best next step for your situation.

Morry covers areas like workplace injuries, medical negligence, employment disputes, asbestos and dust diseases, and more. If your matter falls outside Morry's scope, it will let you know and direct you to other sources of support where appropriate.

Yes. You can pick up where you left off. If you verify your email, your conversation will be saved so you can return to it. Saved conversations expire after 14 days, after which you’ll need to start a new chat.

Morry is designed to listen carefully, ask the right questions, and help connect you with the right legal team. Morry is not a lawyer and does not provide legal advice, but it can help guide you to the kind of legal support or information that may be right for you.

If Maurice Blackburn isn’t able to assist, Morry will do its best to point you to another type of legal help or a reliable source of information about your rights. We want to help you find a way forward, even if it isn’t with us.

We're committed to making Morry accessible and inclusive for as many people as possible.

Morry has been tested using a combination of automated accessibility tools and manual assessments, including keyboard navigation, screen reader compatibility, and colour contrast checks. All chat content currently meets WCAG AA colour contrast requirements.

As part of our ongoing accessibility improvements, we're working towards WCAG 2.2 AA compliance, the recognised Australian standard for digital accessibility, ahead of our full launch later this year.

Our testing identified a small number of areas for improvement, including enhancing keyboard navigation and ensuring screen readers are notified when Morry provides a response. These updates are currently being addressed.
