Doyles Guide lists Andrew as a recommended commercial litigation and dispute resolution lawyer in Victoria, and he is also listed by the AFR as one of the best class action lawyers in Australia. Andrew holds Honours degrees in Law and Science, and his legal career includes working as an employment lawyer and then a barrister representing unions. Following this, he worked as a ministerial adviser and then for the Australian Council of Trade Unions (ACTU), where he won an above-inflation increase to the minimum wage four years in a row in the annual national wage case.
Andrew is “proud to play a role in providing a real check and balance on the conduct of large and powerful organisations so that everyday Australians are treated fairly and have the access to justice that they deserve”.
Andrew's experience at Maurice Blackburn includes working on cases for consumers, victims of disasters and small businesses. In his work on behalf of shareholders, Andrew has represented the largest financial institutions from Australia and overseas together with individual retail investors.
“Class actions provide access to justice and fill a regulatory void. They enable hundreds of thousands of people to be compensated when they have been mistreated by the companies in which they have placed their trust and money. Class actions also help clean up bad boardroom behaviour and help enforce better standards of corporate governance," says Andrew.
