Pey is a Law Institute of Victoria Personal Injury Accredited Specialist who has more than eight years’ experience in legal practice, and assists clients who have suffered injuries to understand their entitlements and access compensation under the Victorian TAC system.

“I first became interested in the law because of its ability to achieve justice for people who have suffered. I find it rewarding to know that I'm using my knowledge to assist others,” says Pey.

Pey rises to the challenge of dealing with the complexities of the Victorian TAC system and is determined to pursue every available option to achieve a positive outcome for her clients. In December 2012, she was successful in winning a difficult psychological serious injury case for her client, where there were issues about who the defendant was, and time limitations to bring the claim.

“I hear a lot of tragic stories in my line of work. I really empathise with my clients and what they are going through, and it’s this more than anything else that inspires me to work hard for them to achieve the best outcome possible.”

Pey graduated with a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne. She first joined Maurice Blackburn in 2006 working in our commercial litigation team. She gained experience in workers’ compensation and medical negligence during her year of articles with the firm in 2008, and has been working in road accident injury compensation since she was admitted to practice in 2009.

Pey is an active member of Maurice Blackburn's Cultural Diversity Committee, which she sees as another way to help her clients who have a wide range of cultural backgrounds. She is also involved in the wider community through Maurice Blackburn Women's Network, where she is an Executive member and chair of its community subcommittee.
