Prior to working at Maurice Blackburn, Sophie worked in occupational therapy, where she gained hands-on experience that helped her better understand how injuries can impact someone’s daily life.
Sophie is particularly passionate about sexual harassment and third-party assault claims, having authored submissions to the Australian Law Reform Commission’s Inquiry into Justice Responses to Sexual Violence in 2024. She was recognised as an Injury & Compensation Law Rising Star in the prestigious Doyle's Guide in 2022.
Sophie is involved in partnership initiatives across the Brisbane region, working closely with unions and the allied health community to provide legal education and support. She is passionate about making the law accessible to everyone.
She is proud to work at a firm like Maurice Blackburn that truly values promoting access to justice and does not back down from a fight. The strength and resilience of her clients in getting through the challenges they are facing is why Sophie is so passionate about helping them through their claims. She is dedicated to achieving a rewarding outcome so they can reclaim their identity and rebuild their lives.
“I understand that making a claim can be very stressful, and it’s often the first and only time my clients have ever spoken to a lawyer. I value making them feel comfortable and supported so they can tell their story, and I aim to provide honest advice that is easy to understand," says Sophie.
