Charleton is a compassionate and hard working lawyer with a keen eye for detail and legal strategy. He thrives on analysing complex issues to provide innovative solutions. Charleton is currently representing shareholders in a class action against Woolworths Group (WOW) for alleged misleading and deceptive conduct and breaches of continuous disclosure obligations in the period 29 August 2014 – 6 May 2015.
“I am driven to achieve the best outcome for my clients against powerful and well-resourced defendants. I believe class actions provide unrivalled access to justice for victims of mass wrongdoings, and are essential in shaping the current legal and political climate. They hold those responsible to account and help prevent and regulate government and corporate misconduct.”
Charleton also worked on the Queensland Floods Class Action and is extremely proud of the landmark result Maurice Blackburn achieved in the NSW Supreme Court in that case for almost 7000 victims. He has also previously volunteered his time and legal expertise at community legal centres for several years.
