Practice Area
Work injury
Qualification(s)

LLB (Hons), B Arts, Masters in Education

Natasha is a highly effective WorkCover litigator and advocate, with experience in statutory benefits and common law matters across all jurisdictions. She acts for clients who have suffered from an injury, illness or disease arising out of, or suffered in the course of, their employment, and she is deeply committed to protecting the rights of workers.

“It is important to me to ensure my clients have the opportunity to exercise their legal rights and receive their full compensation entitlements,” says Natasha.

“All too often we see employers and insurers trying to negate or circumvent these rights and avoid paying just compensation. Without overstating the case, I’m on a bit of a mission to protect my clients from that sort of injustice.”

Natasha understands that compensation is only part of the journey to recovery, and she works to ensure her clients receive every possible form of support as well as feel they have been communicated with and understand their WorkCover claim and entitlements. Before joining Maurice Blackburn in 2008, Natasha spent a number of years working as a teacher and an academic in the School of Graduate Studies at Monash University.

Natasha is also passionate about social justice. Her high-profile cases include acting for the family of a man who was deported to the United Kingdom because he had a criminal record. The man was born in the UK but had lived in Australia since he was a baby and was being deported with no existing family, friends or financial means in the UK.

Natasha has also acted for a young boy who wished to be able to play in a girl’s netball team however was banned from doing so on the basis of his gender even though his team mates wanted him to play with them.
