Zar Chavla

Zar has strong practical expertise and technical knowledge in general protections applications, bullying complaints, workplace investigations, senior executive negotiations, discrimination matters and whistleblower complaints. He adopts an empathetic, pragmatic approach to achieving outcomes for his clients.

Zar has instructed in cases before the Fair Work Commission, the Industrial Relations Commission, and the Federal Court of Australia. Before joining Maurice Blackburn, he worked in private practice. 

Zar’s achievements include:

• achieving a six-figure settlement for an employee who had been sexually harassed at work
• achieving a six-figure settlement for a CEO who had been dismissed after making whistleblower complaints
• assisting clients in navigating general protections claims and bullying complaints, resulting in favourable outcomes
• advising and negotiating on behalf of senior executives during exit negotiations
