Phil Gleeson is a Principal at Maurice Blackburn. He has established our WA practice, with offices in the Perth CBD and Hamilton Hill near Fremantle, and has overseen its rapid growth since opening its doors in 2011. Phil has 15 years experience as a lawyer in all aspects of personal injury compensation and civil claims, and before joining Maurice Blackburn he worked for another prominent law firm in Perth and Melbourne.

“I joined Maurice Blackburn because I knew about their reputation in the Eastern states and I wanted to be able to offer West Australians that same level of top quality legal service. I’ve been living in WA since 2003 and my family and I love the lifestyle. I’m dedicated to my clients and Maurice Blackburn has the right mix of local lawyers backed by a national team to provide support throughout the legal process.

“I became a lawyer to ease the burden on people who have suffered a trauma. I help give them access to the tools, money and power to piece their lives together. I am driven to fight injustices and help everyday West Australians successfully negotiate their way through the complicated legal process.”

Phil helps people with compensation claims if they have been injured at work, in a motor vehicle accident, through medical malpractice or asbestos exposure, as a result of a faulty product, if someone else was to blame for an accident on public or private property, or if they need to make a claim against their superannuation or insurance policy.

He is listed by the prestigious Doyles Guide as a leading lawyer for work injury compensation nationally as well as in WA, and for medical negligence, motor vehicle accident and public liability compensation in WA.

“I help people stand up for their rights and access their full entitlements. I enjoy successfully navigating a path for clients to get on with their lives. I know my clients by name and I treat them with the respect and dignity they deserve. I know they are going through a traumatic time and they deserve to have someone in their corner fighting for them."

Phil’s dedication to improving the lives of others goes beyond his work as a lawyer – he is also a Health Consumers Council Board Member. In his spare time, Phil enjoys supporting the Fremantle Football Club and competing in the Rottnest Swim.
