Medical injury

Qualification(s)

BA (Communications), LLB

Libby joined Maurice Blackburn in 2004, following a clerkship in the NSW Supreme Court and two years with another prominent Sydney law firm. She has more than 10 years' experience in medical law, and holds a Bachelor of Arts (Communications) and Bachelor of Laws from University of Technology, Sydney.

“I’ve always been driven by a passion for social justice and a desire to fight against unfair situations, particularly to fight for vulnerable individuals against ‘the big guys’ – the large corporations and departments that sometimes seem to be able to operate with impunity. This urge to fight became an aspiration to ensure that every person has access to quality legal representation,” says Libby.

Libby has significant skills and experience in litigation and negotiation, and she has represented and resolved a number of multi-million dollar cases for adults and children with brain injuries. She is a compelling advocate and a highly effective mediator, who is able to determine and achieve the most appropriate and beneficial outcomes for her clients. Libby channels her passion for fairness into a determination to ensure that her clients receive justice, for the wrongs they have suffered, and the compensation to support themselves in the future.

“I'm inspired by being able to help people and see real change in their lives as a result of obtaining a resolution for them. Being able to be a voice for people who are unable to fight for their rights is ultimately very rewarding. I work hard to gain the trust of my clients, who are often dealing with serious physical and metal injuries, and are understandably suspicious of medical and legal professionals.”
